Treasure Island redevelopment plans

Treasure Island is going to reconsider the hire of a land use attorney in efforts to put forth a bullet proof plan for the north end of the island.  For years St Pete beaches redevelopment plans have been undermined by a group of attorney suits against the city.  So this seems like a wise move by the city of Treasure Island. This plan would be focused on two specific areas that if changed would be more attractive to investors financially, However before all this can happen it must pass two public hearings and the approval of voters.

In other old news on redevelopment in Treasure Island the city has issued permits back in February 2015, for a new luxury resort called Edgewater.  the northern part of Treasure Island would require a referendum to set up a new district and change density, the Edgewater permit was fairly easy no doubt as Zoning was already long established into a District allowing for High Density Short Term Stays.
